Scotty McCreery's Career Reignites with "Five More Minutes"
Many assumed the 2011 American Idol winner Scotty McCreery had run his race in the spotlight. Enjoying two occasions of slot No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart and dropping several successful singles between, McCreery successfully had his "15 seconds of fame" in the industry by the time his label dropped him in 2016. But now, with his new album Seasons Change on the way, his name is flooded in lights once again--thanks to his appropriately named single, "Five More Minutes."
The once young star speaks of his new project fondly, commenting on his youth and inexperience at the time of his Idol win. "I couldn't have made this record when I was 17. I couldn't have made it when I was 20," comments McCreery, "I just didn't have it in me. I didn't have the craft."
More adult experiences and emotions beat at the heart of his new chapter, including the death of beloved friends in 2014 and the death of his grandfather in 2015. In fact, it appears that the 2016 Universal Music Group drop has only fueled his creative energy. It is reasonable to assume that the Country Star will experience at least 5 more minutes of fame this season.
